Long rendered invisible, constantly reduced to their gender, with their work viewed through the lens of essentialism, female and non-binary comic book creators are no longer merely a footnote. They are key players in this vibrant world that has for too long been associated with masculinity. Over the past decade, they have shaken up the 9th art, to the point of bringing down its most important festival, Angoulême. Fourteen comic artists have come together here, through a series of comic strips, to reflect on their practice and share their creative experiences in a world where sexism is far from being the only obstacle."
