It's the second year in a row that I've been invited to collaborate with the organization of ReadON: Almada Festival of Literature.
ReadON is a European project that is being developed in four different countries, thought activities related to literacy, culture and youth education, This Festival, that in Portugal is planed in Almada, happened between 23 and 25th of May.

On this Festival, I organized a zine fair, with different artists showcasing and selling their work. I've also moderated two panels with artists and writers about illustration and comics.

Last weekend, 9 and 10th of March, I was in Coimbra for CoimbraBD comics festival.

I monitored two workshop sessions about Comics and Micro-narratives about daily life. 
On the first session, we made a little zine about ourselves, drawn by other participants.
The second session was more introspective; the guests were challenged to draw a four panel comic inspired on a personal theme.

On sunday 10th, I hosted a open talk with different female comic artists: Joana Afonso, Rita Alfaiate e Sofia Neto. We talked about our work, creative process and answered some questions from the public.

At last, I finally got to hold my new book - The Other Side of Z - that was published by Kingpin Books in partnership with ComicHeart and Gfloy - Portugal, simultaneously in Portuguese and English languages.

The book will be officially presented next saturday, 16th March, in Kingpin Books store, Lisbon, by 4pm.

Next weekend, March 9 and 10, I will be in CoimbraBD for the first time, thanks to Bruno Caetano's invitation, along with many others and other artists, some of whom I share a collective exhibition with (Women in Portuguese Comics' Scene of XXI century)

In addition to the exhibition, I will be teaching a workshop about comics and self expression, and presenting the a new book I've illustrated, under the script and words of Nuno Duarte. O Outro Lado de Z (The Other Side of Z) is published by Kingpin Books, in partnership with G Floy Studio - Portugal and Comic Heart.

No próximo fim de semana, 9 e 10 de Março, vou estar pela primeira vez no CoimbraBD, a convite do Bruno Caetano, em conjunto com muitos outros e outras artistas incriveís, algumas das quais com quem partilho uma exposição colectiva.

Para além da exposição, vou ministrar um workshop de Banda Desenhada e vai ser lançado o album que ilustrei sob o argumento do Nuno Duarte, O Outro Lado de Z, publicado pela Kingpin Books, em parceira com a G Floy Studio - Portugal e Comic Heart

Last month I had the pleasure to be part of this project: ComEdu: Comics for Education, which had it's first meeting in Talsi, Latvia.

For 10 days, me and 20 other illustrations and youth workers worked in teams to develop comics to be used in educational systems. The comics are about different topics and aspects regarding social issues - ecology, discrimination, gender roles, fake media, etc.

The comics will be put together in an anthology, to be published by the end of 2019.

On October 18, at Gallery Zé dos Bois in Lisbon, Nódoa Negra had its launch party, presenting the book to the public audience for the first time.
Simultaneously with the launch of the book, there was also an exhibition with original works by almost all the authors of the project.

The book countains artwork by 12 authors, 11 artists and 1 writer: Bárbara Lopes, Cecília Silveira, Dileydi Florez, Hetamoé, Inês Caria, Inês Cóias, Marta Monteiro, Mosi, Patrícia Guimarães, Sara Figueiredo Costa (the writer), Sílvia Rodrigues e Susa Monteiro.

On 5th March 2018, I had the pleasure to be part of Semana da Leitura (Reading Week), an anual initiative of the National Reading Plan (Plano Nacional de Leitura - PNL), a government protocol program that promotes reading habits and interest on literature in schools.
I was invited to visit Carvalho Figueiredo high school, in Loures, to talk about my graphic novel "Spineless Cactus". The students of 9th grade read and analyzed the book in literature classes!
During the talk, they were able to ask me questions, tell me their opinions about the book and perform a play based on their interpretation of the story. It was amazing!

No dia 5 de março de 2018, tive o prazer de fazer parte da Semana da Leitura, iniciativa anual do Plano Nacional de Leitura (PNL). 
Fui convidada a visitar a escola secundária Carvalho Figueiredo, em Loures, para falar da minha Banda Desenhada "Nem Todos os Cactos Têm Picos". Os alunos do 9º ano leram e analisaram o livro em aulas de literatura!
Durante a conversa na biblioteca, os tiveram a oportunidade de fazer perguntas, dar as suas opiniões sobre o livro e fazer uma pequena peça de teatro em base na sua interpretação da história. Foi fantástico!
